Restarted fic
Jun. 8th, 2007 11:47 pmHad some time to kill while away from the computer today and started rewriting yesterday's abortive story. There is definitely something different and satisfying (for me anyway) about putting a pen to paper instead of fighting with the stupid keyboard. It's hard to track the evolving thought process involved in a piece of writing when you write directly to the computer. [Very glad Mr Tolkein didn't write directly to a file or I would have missed out on too many hours of enjoyable reading curled up with Histories of Middle Earth, etc... ] It just seems to feel a little richer and more real after so long away from writing. I will definitely try to remember to try it if I start getting writer's block; there is just something about the idea of curling up on the couch in front of a fireplace on a cold day with a cat cuddled next to you with a notebook and special pen, a pile of pillows and a quilt, a hot buttered rum.... eeek it's June and 90 some odd degrees outside and I have a basset hound and I'm snuggling in front of the fire with a kitten??? lol Oh well, it's a nice relaxing scene to imagine writing in. I guess I should start typing what I wrote out since surely no one else could make sense of my perverted chicken scratchings and scrawled shorthand. It looks like maybe I am capable of keeping to an almost daily posting schedule after all. Maybe this and the the fanfic writing will help work out some things I need to get out of my system after all. Guess I need to finish the fic so I can get some readers now ;)
